Soapd ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Soapd mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you create an account and use Soapd:
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, profile photo
- Vehicle information: year, make, model, trim, and type
- Location data: your address and GPS coordinates during active bookings for pro routing and live tracking
- Payment information: processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number.
- Photos: vehicle photos uploaded during bookings and completion photos taken by pros
- Communications: messages sent through the in-app chat between customers and pros, and SMS text messages we send to your mobile number for booking and account notifications
- SMS opt-in data and consent: records of when and how you agreed to receive SMS text messages from Soapd
- Device information: push notification tokens for sending booking updates
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, operate, and improve our services
- Process bookings and payments
- Connect customers with service providers
- Send booking confirmations, status updates, and reminders by push notification, email, and SMS
- Enable real-time tracking and in-app communication
- Respond to support requests
- Ensure safety and prevent fraud
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Soapd:
- Stripe: for secure payment processing
- Supabase: for data storage and user authentication
- Expo: for push notifications
- Twilio: for SMS text message delivery
- Resend: for transactional email delivery
- Google Maps: for address autocomplete and location services
- Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In: for account authentication
- Sentry: for crash and error reporting
These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle your data.
4. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time by contacting us.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With service providers (pros) to fulfill your bookings, limited to the information needed to complete the service
- With third-party services listed above to operate the platform
- When required by law or to protect our rights
SMS opt-in data and consent are excluded from data sharing. The categories of personal information listed above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent. Your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in records, and SMS consent information will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes at any time.
6. Location Data
Location data is collected only during active bookings to enable pro routing and live tracking. We do not track your location when you are not using the app for a booking. You can control location permissions through your device settings.
7. SMS Text Messaging
Soapd sends transactional SMS text messages to customers and service providers in connection with their Soapd accounts and bookings. By creating a Soapd account and providing your mobile phone number, you agree to receive these messages.
Message types include booking confirmations, service provider acceptance notifications, arrival and ETA updates, service completion receipts, subscription reminders, and account notifications (payment receipts, refunds, cancellations). Soapd does not send marketing or promotional SMS at this time.
Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any Soapd SMS, or by emailing support@soapd.app. Reply HELP for support information.

We will not share, sell, or transfer your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent information to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. SMS-related information is shared only with our SMS delivery provider (Twilio) for the sole purpose of sending the transactional messages described above.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Opt out of push notifications through your device settings
- Opt out of SMS text messages by replying STOP to any Soapd SMS

9. Children's Privacy
Soapd is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
10. Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, secure authentication, and access controls. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Your continued use of Soapd after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
